Yes, when you book class or a multiple class package with us the class will consist of just you and the trainer. Each student will get a private fully equipped room to work with their trainer. If you have booked a multiple class package with us we will keep you with the same trainer throughout all of your classes unless you request a change.
Yes, but we do charge an additional fee of 50% of the original class or class package price for each additional person that wants to attend the studio class.
Yes, Final Cut Pro Classes can send a well qualified trainer to your home or office no matter where you are. Prices start at $495 for a three hour session in Manhattan. Traveling expenses ARE included in the tri-state region class prices (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut). But traveling expenses are not included in the "Onsite Anywhere in USA" (the other 47 states) which is $2650 per day, and training that is done outside of the United States("Training Anywhere in the World") which is $4500 per day and $2650 for each additional day.
We think it is best to keep the student with the same trainer for the duration of any class package taken, even if the student decides (which many do) to take a couple multiple class packages. That way the trainer will know where the student left off on the previous class and can continue the training without repeating what the student has already learned. The trainer will already be familiar with the student's knowledge base and project if they have one. The student can always request a change of trainer at any time.
No, you don't need a project or a computer to take classes with us. We have all the computers, peripherals and media (pictures, graphics, music and video files) you will need for your training classes.
Yes, we encourage students to bring in their media or project so that the class becomes more relevant to the student. During the class, the trainer can show the student how to deal with problems they might be having with their particular project that our media would not contain, such as color issues, format, sound issues, etc. If you have a laptop, it is also a good idea to bring it in for the first class (especially if you are using Final Cut Pro) so we can make sure it is configured properly. It will save a lot of frustration knowing that the software is working the same on your computer as it did on ours without unnecessary error messages popping up.
No, there are no pre-requisites to taking any of our classes or class packages. The trainer will spend a few minutes talking with you and finding out what experience (if any) you have with the software, and what you would like to be able to accomplish with the software. Because the training is one on one with the trainer, we will customize your class or classes to your knowledge level and what you would like to learn. A student who has no experience will be taught from the basics up in a way that will make the student a competent user of the software with a solid foundation for learning more advanced techniques as they continue taking classes. We also can accommodate seasoned professionals who just want to learn certain techniques. Those advanced users can come in with a list of questions dealing with just the things they would like to learn such as color correction, the different formats, media management, or ways to improve workflow. So it really doesn't matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced user, we have a class for you.
We are very excited to offer online internet classes. Because of the new networking technology available today, we can easily connect to anyones computer that has internet enabled, and give that user a one on one class literally anywhere in the world. Once the online class date and time are confirmed, the student will receive an email containing a link that when clicked, will take the student to a virtual one on one, completely interactive classroom with the trainer. The trainer can either share our computer with the student during the session or the student can share their computer with the trainer during the class. This is great especially if the student has media or a project they would like to learn with during the class. If your computer has a webcam enabled (optional) you will be able to see the trainer and the trainer will be able to see the student. The student and trainer will also have full open audio contact at all times. It's really the next best thing to taking classes in our NYC studio.
Yes, Final Cut Pro Classes always uses the latest versions of the software they teach (within a month of the new version release) for the training unless the student wants to learn on a previous version of the software because that is what the student has on their computer.
No, if the student chooses a multiple class package such as the "Crash Course" or the "Extreme Course" they would only need to schedule the first class of the package, and they can leave the rest of the dates open for future scheduling. All classes are can be scheduled up to 1 year from the date of purchase.
We schedule classes from Monday thru Sunday (7 days a week) from:
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Usually, we only need about 4 or 5 days notice to get a student scheduled for a class. If you are coming in from out of town and need to coordinate the training dates and times with your trip, it's best to schedule your classes at least 2 weeks in advance. That way you are most likely able to get your requested dates and time slots for training.
The only way to get your dates and times confirmed for any class or any class package is to have paid for the class or classes in advance. We cannot hold dates and times for class slots while waiting to receive payment.
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal and Google Checkout payments. We also accept checks, but classes cannot be scheduled until the check clears in our bank, and cash in which classes can be scheduled at the time of the payment.
Yes, when you register for a class or class package, the full amount of the class or class package must be paid in advance before you can start scheduling your class dates and times.
Sorry, we do not offer financial aid or payment plans for our training at this time.
No, when you register for a class or class package either online or by phone, we will respond telling you that either the dates and times you want are available and to submit your payment information, or they are not available in which case we would try to find alternate dates and times. If we say that the dates and times you want for your training are available, we must obtain your payment for the classes before they can be confirmed in our schedule. Sometimes when the student waits too long before making the actual payment for their classes, they find that their date and time slots have been taken by someone else.
The best way to try and secure your dates and times for training classes is to submit your payment information with your requested dates and times. No matter which payment method you use on our website (cc form, PayPal, Google Checkout or email invoice) we receive that payment information manually (your credit card is not charged automatically) and we will check and see if the dates and times you chose are available. If your dates and times for your classes are available, we will process your payment information and send you a confirmation receipt from Final Cut Pro Classes. If your dates and times you submitted your payment for are not available, your payment will not be processed and we will contact you to try and find alternate dates and times before processing your payment. Otherwise, your payment will not be processed.
If you have a scheduled class that you would like to reschedule, you must notify Final Cut Pro Classes at least 48 hours before your scheduled class date and time. We allow every class in every class package to be rescheduled 1 time. If you cannot make the rescheduled class for any reason that class will be forfeited. Classes cannot be rescheduled within 48 hours of the scheduled class date and time.
If you cannot attend a scheduled class you must notify Final Cut Pro Classes at least 48 hours before your scheduled class date and time to reschedule that class. Classes cannot be rescheduled within 48 hours of the class date and time. If you do not attend the scheduled class and you have not notified us at least 48 in advance to reschedule the class, that class will be forfeited.
If you are late for your scheduled class the class will begin at the time of your arrival and end at the scheduled class end time. The time that you are late cannot be added to the end of the scheduled class end time. So please, try to be on time for your classes.

We admit we are a little obscured from the street due to the building structure which covers our entrance and neon sign, but Final Cut Pro Classes (New York, NY) is located at 217 East 10th Street, Lower Level, between 1st and 2nd Avenues. Find building #217 located on the north side of the street, go downstairs to the red door located next to our neon sign "Final Cut Pro Classes".
Final Cut Pro Classes does not offer The Apple Certification exam. We do have many students coming in for one on one training that bring the list of certification exam questions for us to go over with them before their test. So far all those students have passed their Apple certification exam.
