Peter Dant grew up and attended school in Ohio. After graduating from Fine Art School at the University of Cincinnati in 1992, he decided to pursue his photographic career in New York City. Over the next eight years, he worked for various commercial photography studios and labs both traditional and digital. New York is where he fine tuned all of his photographic and printing ability of established photographers including Annie Leibovitz and Ellen Von Unwerth, Peter learned technical and artistic skills on the job that helped formed his style. Since 1992, Peter has exhibited photographic artwork in over 14 gallery shows in the US and abroad.
John Burns was an Avid Editor from 1992 - 2001 cutting commercials for advertising agencies. He also taught Avid Media Composer for many years before turning his attentions to Final Cut Pro. He started working on Final Cut Pro as soon as the first version was released. His passion for training led him to establish Final Cut Pro Classes in 2001 emphasizing one on one training techniques.
Christopher Walsh is an experienced Art Director who has worked in several Advertising Agencies such as Tracy Locke Dallas and Frankel in Chicago. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California for Advertising Illustration and has his BA in Advertising from The Art Institute of Dallas. He has an excellent working knowledge of all the Adobe Suite. He currently works as a freelance Art Director in New York City.
Steve Olswang has worked in New York as a freelance editor of television documentaries and other programs for over twenty years. He has a B.S. in Broadcasting and Film from Boston University and a M.F.A. in Filmmaking from Yale University. He’s edited numerous shows over the years for networks such as the History Channel, A & E, PBS, Discovery Channel, CBS, and HDNet. In 2002, he jumped at the opportunity to work with and teach Apple’s Final Cut Pro, and has worked extensively with the software since then. He’s now Apple Certified in Final Cut Pro 7, and has a wide range of experience integrating different video formats into the editing process.
Seth Jacobson has shot, directed, and edited many video projects. He has edited for top musical talent such as Snoop Dog, Ice Tea, Ledesi, Dr. Lonnie Smith and Joey DeFrancesco. He has also edited talk shows, reality shows, documentaries, broadcast TV commercials, and promotional videos. He has 10 years of experience with Final Cut Pro.
Frederick Trevino is an award winning filmmaker living in Brooklyn, New York. He received a B.F.A in Film/Video from the University of Texas and is certified in Final Cut Pro, Color, Compressor, and Soundtrack Pro as well as being well experience with the RED workflow. His films have been shown in multiple festivals including, The New Filmmakers Film Festival and Texas Show where his film, Sing For Me, won Audience favorite. Throughout his film career, Frederick has worked as a director, editor, colorist and post supervisor. His color work has screened at such highly esteemed locations as Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York. Frederick’s extensive software knowledge comes from both being a working professional for over 6 years and as an instructor for over 4 years. As a filmmaker, he prefers personal films and his influences include Cassavetes, Godard, Coppola, Welles, Scorcese, Kurosawa, Teshigahara, Allen, and Bergman to name a few. In his free time he also enjoys writing.
Daniel DeStefano has been editing professionally using Final Cut Pro for five years. His work has appeared on The Onion, CBS College Sports, Food 2 and The History Channel. He has also previously taught editing using Final Cut Pro at the New York Film Academy at Harvard for two summers.
